Training
Snaffle Bit

Jon is the son of the accomplished saddle bronc rider Jim Roeser.  After his successful saddle bronc career, Jim pursued his interest in the art form of the making of a cow horse, and quickly established himself as a top contender in the reined cow horse circles.

Jon was raised on the family ranch in Caldwell, Idaho, in the family traditions of ranching, rodeo, and training horses.  John competed in High School and College Rodeo.  At one time, he thought of a career in the PRCA as a calf roper or team roper.  However, his father advised him that training horses would provide better long term job security.  Jon learned to train reined cow horses and cutters.  He worked hard to “pay his dues”, and has gone on to become one of the most accomplished and respected horsemen in the business.

Jon’s training style is largely based on the foundations of his mentors: his father Jim, and trainer Greg Ward.
